Mountains + Deserts + Oceans

Imagine setting off on a journey .. a journey that will take you over mountains and deserts and oceans .. a journey that will take 2 years to complete and require you to risk everything you own. Now imagine reaching the end of that journey. Imagine the joy .. the relief .. the satisfaction.

Two years after embarking on our journey we’ve finally reached the end. After months and months of planning and preparations, after selling off and packing up everything we own, after driving thousands of miles across the country, after laboring for months to build our brand new studio … we’re here and it is done.

As much as this is the end of our journey it’s also the beginning. But there’s plenty of time to think about the journey ahead. Now is the time to celebrate the journey we’ve completed. And that’s exactly what we did last week. The grand opening party for our studio was a success beyond our wildest dreams, and we’re eternally grateful to everyone who helped us pull it off, and to all the wonderful people that came to help us celebrate.

Here’s a little something to commemorate the end of our journey. The future awaits …

As you can see, we had an amazing turnout for our grand opening party which was planned and executed by the amazing Jessica Masi of JCG Events. Not only did she have great ideas and direction for us, she also helped hook us up with some incredible vendors. Without a doubt the party wouldn’t have been the same without Toss Catering. Fernando took inspiration from our studio and our story and created a edible vision out of it. The food was perfect. It was a big deal to us that everything be legitimately ‘bite sized’, and Fernando nailed that perfectly .. even bringing out bite-sized cookies and brownies and milk at the end of the night. He even took the colors of our branding to heart, incorporating red accents into the food and serving the food to our guests via black picture frames with salt under the glass. It was amazing!

Eventluxe and Uplyte really helped us transform the space outside our studio. Eventluxe brought in lighted tables and lounge furniture and laid them out on our walk for the perfect lounge atmosphere, which was completed by the awesome lighting design that the crew at Uplyte setup for us. The crew from Uplyte were so helpful and so nice we couldn’t have been happier with them. Their awesome red lighting, combined with the pumping tunes from Ubis Music, were drawing in uninvited guests from more than a block away. Once the guests were checked in they didn’t want to leave because Premiere Beverage had the mojitos and margaritas flowing. If that wasn’t enough, everyone was succumbing to the delicious sweets provided by KatiCake World. I know I had more than one!

Without all of this support and great service our grand opening night wouldn’t have been the same. We can’t say enough good things about Toss Catering. Fernando was amazing and the fact that his staff was able to do everything from within our editing suite AND keep it clean is just so impressive. His attention to detail and the courtesy of his staff really took our party to the next level. So thank you Fernando and thank you everyone else for the awesome support. You guys were great!

Also, thank you so much to our interior designer Jessie Supp. Without her we would likely still be trying to figure out what to do with our studio. She was instrumental in helping us plan out the space, work with contractors, shop for furniture and custom doors, design the lighting and so much more. She even took over at one point and finished the paint job (metallic gray stripes) in the studio bathroom. Seriously, there is not enough ways to say thank you to you, and we’re so grateful to also call you a good friend as well. We can only hope you got the same amount of happiness from seeing the finished studio as we did.

Also, shout out to my man Julien with Merge Studios for helping me film the opening night party. You made my life a lot easier that night and helped make it possible for me to produce the killer video above. Thanks! And two more ‘shout outs’ are necessary. First, one to John Watkins with Balloon Art World, who spent several hours crafting an amazing balloon butterfly as a gift to us for our grand opening. It’s on our desk right now! Also, props to Jairo Barrios of Fleurish Designs for the beautiful flower arrangement you gave to us. We have it out in the lobby!

And now, to announce the winners for the awesome giveaways!
