Grove Isle Wedding | Kate + David

I am so excited to share with you this beautiful Grove Isle wedding.  We met Kate & David for the first time back in September on one of our many pre-move trips to Miami.  Since we were in transition we all decided to meet for lunch to talk about their wedding.

That lunch ended up being the start of an amazing friendship!  Photographing their wedding last week was the icing on the cake and was such a special event!

Surrounded my 30 of their closest friends and family (32 if you count us:)) they pledged their lives together with beautiful hand written vows.  I teared up just hearing them and was never so thankful that my camera can focus even when I can’t!

To Kate & David, may you always remember this day, the words you spoke, the love you share, and how much you love dessert before dinner!!!

I really love this next picture!!!  LOVE!

One of the reasons Kate & David chose February 18th was because of the full moon.  However, it decided to play peek-a-boo and we almost didn’t see it.  However, thanks to the fast moving clouds we were finally able to get what we were after!

Part 2 is coming on next so watch out!

Special thanks to the amazing vendors!

Gabriel – Seattle Portrait Photographer - Nice evening photos. Good use of lighting specially the ones with the clouds in the background. I also like the mid day ones with the blue sky and puffy clouds, the soft blue of the sky is great. Good job and great variety!May 29, 2011 – 10:07 pm

Eden Roc | Miami Wedding Venue

Welcome to today’s Venue Spotlight!!! Together with Jessica of JCG Events we are bringing you a new venue every week! Our post will be from a very visual point of view.  But, don’t forget to check out the JCG blog for a the wedding planner’s point of view.

I am so excited to show you the amazing awesomeness that is the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel! There are so many wedding venues in Miami, FL  but,  I knew this venue would shoot to the top of my favorites list when I spotted the Starbucks Coffee right inside the front doors! HEAVEN!

Located in the heart of Miami beach next door to the Foutainebleau, the Eden Roc is a stunning, newly remodeled hotel that is perfect for a beautiful wedding, an intimate beach side ceremony, or even awesome conventions and meetings. It still retains a lot of the original features such as a beautiful marble staircase, shining bronze elevators and the original ballroom that featured amazing Hollywood stars like the Rat Pack and Nat King Cole!

Weddings can be held in one their several ballrooms however the most popular locations are right outside in a beautiful grassy area framed by palm trees or even right on the beach. This speaks to my heart as I love the feel of the sun on my face and sand between my toes. I think when we renew our vows it will be on a beach…. but I digress. On to the pictures….

This is main lobby of the hotel and I love, love, love!  Everywhere I looked there was another opportunity for fun, beautiful pictures!

The rooms are just a beautiful!  This would be my absolutely first choice for an awesome boudoir session!  Beautiful natural light, awesome furniture, and luxurious white linens.

A wrap around balcony available to wedding  couples is a perfect location for a stunning city backdrop (especially at sunset) and a beautiful ocean backdrop as well.  I also loved it for a completely private first meet location!

There is also amazing indoor locations for great pictures and intimate moments.  From the obvious beautiful places to the hidden gems and nooks and crannies.

For an awesome rehearsal dinner how about this restaurant that is the closet restaurant to the beach in all of Miami!  Normally they aren’t allowed to be this close to the ocean but since it was built before the regulations its allowed to stay as a historic landmark.

This lawn is a beautiful place for an outdoor ceremony.  Its huge and can be dressed up in all different ways.

And of course, it’s all just a few steps from the beach!  It can’t get better than that!

To really get a feel for the Eden Roc it just wouldn’t be complete without one of Travis’ amazing videos!
