Los Angeles Engagement | Babak & Sheena

Sheena: Candice, we are so excited about our engagement session.  We have a very specific idea of EXACLY what we want and how we want it to look.

Me: Uhhhhhh….

Now this kind of comment can be REALLY good…..or REALLY bad.  And my stomach knotted in this horrible little ball.  Why do you ask?  Because I really really really want everyone to LOVE their images.  And when someone has a specific idea I have this horrible fear that I won’t live up to their expectations.  I guess its an artist thing.

Luckily…..this comment was actually REALLY good …..and I once I understood the plan….I couldn’t have been more excited!

Now, if you’ve been following me at all you know that I often travel for engagement sessions.  I love it because its the inspiration of new and exciting places as well as getting to go somewhere that really fits my couple.  So for this session off I went to sunny SoCal to capture the amazing relationship of Babak and Sheena.

This session was done in 3 parts.  Part 1 was in front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  Parts 2 and 3 were both done at the absolutely amazing Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills.

I hope you love them as much as I do!!!

Ok I just love this set of pictures.  A bit “Mad Men” but modernized.  Actually Babak and Sheena met in a library…..so we just couldn’t resist…..

Best smile ever!

Ok I just love love love this next image.  The look in Babak’s eyes as we looks at Sheena just has soooo much in it.  This is sexy and romantic in one image

Hello Beverly Hills!

Wasn’t that fun!  I just can’t wait for their upcoming wedding this March!!!

A Mad Men Holiday Party

There is a chance that perhaps I was born in the wrong decade.  But then I remember that women were just arm candy or housewives….and I change my mind.

However that doesn’t keep me from enjoying of the nostalgia of times gone by!  Travis and I LOVE to watch Mad Men!  And when it came time to throw our very own holiday party….What could be better than a party ala Christmas 1963???  Hence our Mad Mad Holiday Party was born.

First I sent out real invites.  Yes I did.  Mailed them with actual stamps.  Too bad they don’t cost the same is 1963!!!

Our menu was of that era as well with Deviled Eggs, Jello Mold, Pigs in a Blanket, Chips and Dip, Cheese wheel, & Shrimp cocktail along with some sweet treats of santa hat brownies!!!

The bar menu consisted of 5 fabulous drinks pulled right from the show!  Manhattan, Brandy Alexander, Old Fashioned, Sidecar, Martini, and Vodka Gimlets.  The thing to note about these drinks??? THEY ARE STRONG!!!!

The night was full of laughter, pictures (in our fun photo booth) and we decorated with candy cigarettes and magazines from NOV/DEC 1963 (Complete with a December 1963 Playboy in the bathroom)

This was so much fun we might just have to do another one sometime…..
